Pricing Up with Patricia Van Den Akker

Wednesday 3 December at 7pm. Free Online Event

This online session is being offered for free as a collaboration between Studium and the Design Trust. It’s for people who are struggling with pricing their ceramics and to gently encourage you to adjust your prices in the new year. During this session Patricia Van Den Akker who runs the Design Trust will be tailoring this talk for ceramicists in order to take a close look at pricing for the very particular issues that come up for ceramics practitioners.

  • How to calculate your cost price in 7 steps – do you know what it costs you to produce one item? If you don’t, then you won’t know if you are profitable!

  • What hourly/daily rate to charge for commissions and teaching, with Patricia’s advice on how to spend your time realistically in your professional practice.

  • What’s the difference between costing & pricing your work? What are the most common pricing challenges for ceramicists, and what are the best pricing strategies?

  • And we will finish this session on how and when to increase your prices.

  • Patricia will happily answer any of your questions at the end of the talk.

So if you are desperate for a pay rise or just need some help with pricing your ceramics then attend this talk for a deeper dive into how to consider a pricing overhaul.
